All our Sunday services offer Holy Communion, and all baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion from our altar regardless of denomination or previous affiliation.
7:45 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I
This service is for those who like to worship early and simply. A said service that uses the beautiful Elizabethan English of the Rite I Eucharist and makes the most of the powerful liturgy of the Anglican tradition, this service attracts a loyal band of worshipers who constitute an important and vital part of the St. James’ family.
9:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II and Enriching Our Worship

This lively, family-friendly service features our contemporary music group “Forever Endeavor” and is a worship-filled experience for people of all ages. Before the reading of the lessons, the children are invited to come forward for a special children’s lesson and to help with the passing of the Peace. This service takes advantage of the wide variety of resources that the Church makes available to worshiping communities to expand the language, images, vocabularies, and metaphors used in worship.
10:00 a.m. Coffee Hour, Fellowship, Sunday School and Adult Christian Education
The brief time between the middle service and the late service is a busy time at St. James’. All kinds of activities are squeezed into this hour. Christian Education is the primary focus, with our Sunday School classes meeting in the lower level of Bartholomew Hall and the Adult Education typically meeting in our Library. Bartholomew Hall is the center of our fellowship activity and during coffee hour you will find hot coffee (regular and decafe), an assortment of hot teas, and lemonade or juice. The variety of nibbles will change from week to week, but tends to include some baked goods and fruit. It’s a time for parents of Sunday School children, good friends, and visitors to take a break, grab a beverage and catch up with each other. Don’t be shy; drop in and say “hi”.
11:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II
Our late mass on Sunday morning is a traditional Episcopal service featuring a festival Eucharist with a vested choir, a full complement of acolytes, a Gospel procession and chanted Psalm. This moving, popular service is rich with all the ceremony so often associated with the liturgy of the Episcopal Church.
Nursery
An adult-run nursery for infants and toddlers under four years of age is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every Sunday. This allows parents of young children to attend services and Sunday morning events knowing that their children are safe and well attended to.
