The parish had fifteen volunteers present at the annual Saturday morning event to benefit The Lord’s Pantry of Downingtown with their pre-Thanksgiving meal assistance program. This year the event took place on November 17th. As you can see from the photograph, the parish was “9:00 a.m. Strong” as the majority of volunteers are Contemporary Rite II service worshipers. Raised Beds Raise Hopes
One of the seven (7) Outreach ministries that St. James' offers for its parishioners and the community is providing assistance to Lord's Pantry of Downingtown. Fr. John Symonds and Catherine "Mike" Hernandez make an end-of-the-month delivery in September of newly-harvested carrots and green beans. The Lord’s Pantry distributes 350 Thanksgiving Baskets every year to our less fortunate neighbors. These baskets include traditional thanksgiving dinner foods, appetizer items, breakfast foods and desserts.
