Sunday School at St. James is held each Sunday morning at 10 am from September through early June. This gives the children the opportunity to attend either the 9 am or 11 am church service with their families.
The Christian Education programs for young people are designed to enrich the spiritual lives of our children and teenagers. The curriculum used for pre-k (age 4) through grade 5 is called “Weaving God’s Promises.” This program fosters the spiritual formation and growth of our children in Christ’s love. Each lesson contains crafts, games and projects that help teachers convey their message in a fun, engaging manor.
A new Rite 13 class has been formed for our 6-8th graders as part of the larger Journey to Adulthood (J2A) program. The first 2 years of the J2A program is called Rite 13, a name that comes from a liturgical rite of passage (confirmation) we celebrate with young people around their 13th birthday. The 2 years of Rite 13 focus on recognizing the gifts God has given us, celebrating our creative potential, and learning to interact as a community of faith.
Vacation Bible School is offered for a week each summer for children ages 4 to 11. Teens, age 12, and up may volunteer as VBS counselors.
We would welcome you and your children to visit us on any Sunday morning! If you have any questions, please contact Beth Sharamatew, Christian Education Coordinator at [email protected]
