The parish had fifteen volunteers present at the annual Saturday morning event to benefit The Lord’s Pantry of Downingtown with their pre-Thanksgiving meal assistance program.
This year the event took place on November 17th.
As you can see from the photograph, the parish was “9:00 a.m. Strong” as the majority of volunteers are Contemporary Rite II service worshipers. There were also a few others from the 7:45 a.m. Rite I service and the 11:00 a.m. Traditional Rite II services.
The Lord’s Pantry of Downingtown, whose mission statement is “Providing supplemental food for qualified families of Downingtown, Lionville, and Exton” originated within St. James’ Episcopal Church. It is now our area’s leading food-assistance pantry and it has remained an important part of our parish’s overall Outreach ministry in the community. A special thanks to Beth Sharamatew for her efforts in leading our parish’s involvement!
