We are excited to announce that our Christian Youth Group – called YAC (Young Adults in the Church) – is going strong. This year we have added many new members and we look to build on the momentum that began last year. The YAC group is led by St. James’ parishioners Rich Carango and Jenn Gemmell.
YAC is open to all high-school age young adults as part of the “Journey to Adulthood” Christian Education program. YAC is the last of a three-part journey for adolescents that started pre-Confirmation with Rite 13 and continued with the actual Confirmation segment (J2A).
YAC is designed to help young adult parishioners find their place in the church and discover a ministry that is important and meaningful to them. Rich and Jenn will help the YAC group develop these ministries and their faith and as they enjoy friendship and fellowship with one another.
Together, the group will support the many service industries at St. James, including the Lord’s Pantry, support of U.S. Troops overseas, etc.
The YAC group meets everyone other Sunday – from 4 pm to 6 pm – in Bartholomew Hall here at St. James. Contact the church office for a detailed YAC meeting schedule.
Come on out and meet the group. Come see what YAC is all about.
