St. James’ Men of Integrity
In 2014, a group of men at St. James began calling themselves the “Men of Integrity” and began a number of men’s ministry efforts. They met for small group Bible study in the spring, summer, and fall. Their studies explored themes such as accountability and masculinity and helped the guys get to know each other better, strengthen friendships, and strengthen their faith.
The group also grew in service by hosting Coffee Hour one Sunday each month, taking pride in fostering Christian fellowship within the parish.
The Men of Integrity have big plans for 2015! Of course, the hosting of coffee hour will continue (the people have spoken!). Also, the bible study group will be starting up again in February with a Lenten focus. Several of the guys are working on organizing a retreat that the group hopes will be planned for later in the year. Keep your eyes open for news and details.
Other plans include more focus on service in the community – specifically, helping to rehab houses for needy families in nearby Coatesville.

Adult Meditation Forum
During the Season of Advent, parishioners enjoyed a special adult forum focused on the themes of Advent – hope, peace, joy and love. The group gathered in the library to explore each of the themes through scripture, discussion and prayer. Each session ended with a meditation. Those who attended deepened their experience of advent, shared with one another, got to know each other and developed a feeling of peace through meditation.
The forum was so well received that a new program is planned for Lent. It will be called Night Prayers and will meet in the Steeves Chapel Sundays at 4:30 pm during Lent. It will be a time of quiet, prayer, mediation and reflection focused around the beautiful liturgy of the Night Prayers.
