On Sunday, June 5th, St. James’ organist Jill Lewis was honored at the 11:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist service for her more than 25 years as serving as the parish organist.
Senior Warden Dick McConnell and Rev. John Symonds, Rector presented a beautiful glass plaque to Jill, thanking her for her dedicated ministry. Jill graciously recognized the parish as well for their journeying with her during the last quarter century in a very touching acknowledgment.
An extra-special happening occurred as Jill’s daughter Kerri was on hand to heighten the celebration. Jill’s trusted friend and vocalist Chris Ferrarini also was present; moreover, she joined with the chancel choir during worship for the service. Chris offered a powerful solo performance as she served as cantor for the day’s psalm and then again during the Offertory.
Lastly, Jill’s friends in the parish’s chancel choir praised here for her ministry as well, especially for all of the years that they had (present-day included) been without a dedicated choir director.
Thank you, Jill, and here’s to another 25 years!
