Members of the parish’s Newcomer’s & Inquirer’s Class have been meeting Saturday mornings throughout the month of February, a wonderful time for Christian formation.
They have been gathering at a local coffee house to enjoy prayer, fellowship, early-morning java, and an Episcopal primer entitled, “A People Called Episcopalians: A Brief Introduction to Our Way of Life”. As all of February is part of the Season of Epiphany, it is during this particular season that Christians remember that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was revealed to the world at The Epiphany, and that his life’s mission was made public by the Magi.
The concise booklet aforementioned, authored by Rev. John Westerhoff and Sharon Ely Pearson, serves as a guiding work as the attendees and their facilitator have been exploring the worshiping style, history, polity, spirituality, and overall ethos of The Episcopal Church. And all of this occurs in just 75 minutes!
