How to Help the Lord’s Pantry this ’22 Holiday Season

10/30/2022 by Beth

The Lord’s Pantry $10,000 Donor Challenge: — A very generous donor will MATCH every dollar donated to the Lord’s Pantry up to $10,000 during the month of November and December.  Send donations to Lord’s Pantry, 141 E. Lancaster Ave, Downingtown 19335 or you can put your donation in our Sunday collection plate clearly marked for the Lord’s Pantry.  Checks should have “Donor Challenge” written on memo line.

Thanksgiving Distribution, Nov. 19th — anyone interested in pledging/donating and bringing a frozen turkey the morning of distribution, please call the Pantry at 610-873-1149 or email [email protected]

Christmas — Anyone interested in helping to “adopt” a child/family for Christmas may do so by sending a check designating “Christmas” on the check memo line. The pantry will use the donations to buy gifts card. Families are given gift cards and the opportunity to shop for their own children and family.  Also, each family is required to return receipts to the Pantry for an audit trail.  Due to COVID, this is still the best way keep the clients and volunteers safe.

About Saint James

There are a number of Saint Jameses in the New Testament – Saint James the brother of Jesus (‘St. James the Just’), Saint James the son of Zebedee (‘St. James the Great’) and Saint James the son of Alphaeus (‘St. James the Less’). The shells that adorn the outside of the parish hall (a symbol of St. James the Great) suggest that our parish is named for this St. James.
