ACOLYTE TRAINING & PRACTICE – AUGUST 4TH

07/23/2019 by Beth

Learn what a lavabo bowl is, and when to use it! See how seasoned veterans offer solemn bows in unison! Handle a thurible—and don’t be scared! Use a piscina without having to get a permission slip!

Please join us on Sunday, August 4th [Pentecost 8] at either 8:50am or 10:30am for an acolytes’ training and practice session. The first session will be led by George Hotton for all Rite I Holy Eucharist acolytes; moreover, Acolyte Master Esther Brink will lead the day’s second training for participating acolytes from both the 9:00am Contemporary Rite II as well as the 11:00am Traditional Rite II Holy Eucharist services. Both sessions will begin in the chapel.

All current participants from the 7:45am, the 9:00am, the 11:00am, as well as the 9:30am blended summer service are welcome to attend. Lastly, prospective Acolytes are also highly encouraged to join in the fun too!

If you have any questions about this event, please use the form below to contact Esther Brink.

About Saint James

There are a number of Saint Jameses in the New Testament – Saint James the brother of Jesus (‘St. James the Just’), Saint James the son of Zebedee (‘St. James the Great’) and Saint James the son of Alphaeus (‘St. James the Less’). The shells that adorn the outside of the parish hall (a symbol of St. James the Great) suggest that our parish is named for this St. James.
