2020 CROP Hunger Walk to be held on Sunday, October 4th

09/12/2020 by Christine Deitcher

The Walk is virtual, but the need could not be more real!

(from the CROP Hunger Walks website)

CROP Hunger Walks are happening in a new way! To keep everyone safe and healthy, Walks are going virtual – either walking alone, with immediate family or in small groups walking a safe distance apart.

The work of CWS and our local hunger agencies continues – and with the possibility of a global famine on the horizon, raising money for vulnerable people is more needed than ever.

Join us – virtually – as we continue our shared commitment to stand up for the poor, the forgotten, those left behind. Our Spring CROP Hunger Walks were down nearly $1 million this year. It is urgent that this fall we continue to raise funds to provide permanent solutions to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.

St. James’ Episcopal Church is once again participating:

Our team is taking action this year to help families living with hunger. We’re asking everyone who can to help St. James Episcopal Church reach these two goals:
1) Increase meals for the growing number of people who need them in our community, and
2) Increase food security around the world.

Please make a donation here to our team today to make these goals a reality!

About Saint James

There are a number of Saint Jameses in the New Testament – Saint James the brother of Jesus (‘St. James the Just’), Saint James the son of Zebedee (‘St. James the Great’) and Saint James the son of Alphaeus (‘St. James the Less’). The shells that adorn the outside of the parish hall (a symbol of St. James the Great) suggest that our parish is named for this St. James.
