We are excited to announce the formation of a new “YAC” group (Young Adults in the Church). The group will be led by St. James’ parishioners Rich Carango and Desiree Clauser.
Please watch the video above to see an introduction to what YAC is all about.
YAC is open to all high-school age young adults as part of the “Journey to Adulthood” Christian Education program. YAC is the last of a three-part journey for adolescents that started pre-Confirmation with Rite 13 and continued with the actual Confirmation segment (J2A).
YAC is designed to help young adult parishioners find their place in the church and discover a ministry that is important and meaningful to them. Rich and Desiree will help the YAC group develop these ministries and their faith and as they enjoy friendship and fellowship with one another.
Together, the group will also plan and lead service missions in the community – like Habitat for Humanity, the Lord’s Pantry of Downingtown, etc.
Scheduling and meeting details
The first meeting will take place on Sunday, November 20 at 10 am – following the 9 am service. After that, we’ll meet every other Sunday from 5 pm to 7 pm. Desiree and Rich will provide a pizza dinner at the meetings.
So come on out and meet the group. Come see what YAC is all about.
